Come along and get your ceilidh shoes on! From 7.30pm GUBC is taking hold of the Debates Chamber and we will be dancing, drinking and partying all night long.
After we have some traditional ceilidhing courtesy of GUBCs favorite ceilidh band we will all head onto the Thursday Night HIVE and take our rightful place at the top of the podium!

Bring your friends, bring your flatmates, bring partners, bring your maw.

22nd SEPTEMBER. DEBATES CHAMBER. 7.30PM.

The President and Committee of Glasgow University Boat Club request the honour of your presence for our clubs' annual Boat Club Dinner and Presidents Regatta on the 20th Nov.

On the same day there will also be the Presidents Regatta, starting at 1 o'clock at the Boathouse. Scratch crews of Alumni and current members will race for glory and the pleasure of our esteemed President Charles Westwood.
This will also be an excellent opportunity to see the improvements made to the boathouse over the summer, as well as meet new members and re-acquaint with old friends. Social lubricants in the form of a barbeque and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic bevourages will be provided. This will finish around 4 o'clock, leaving enough time to get freshened up and ready for your drinks' reception.

In November, GUBC tried thier hand at a spot of Golf once more. Needless to say, the natural athletes embraced and thrived in thier new sport. And were not above a few celebratory tipples!

2009 '10 in a Row' Club Dinner Date Confirmed 21st November @ Glasgow University Union

Rowers are often stereotyped as being really cool, at GUBC, this is the case. Hard training with a close knit squad is rewarded with epic nights out and various social occasions.

At the heart of the social scene is the three dinners that the club hosts during the year. The Club Dinner usually takes place in mid to late November at the GUU, it is a celebration of the previous year and includes the infamous ‘punch ceremony’. The Burns Supper takes place at the end of January and follows on from The Western Head that the club organises. The final dinner is ‘The Boat Race Ball’ held on the evening of the Boat Race with Edinburgh UBC.

We also have a social calendar for the first term. This is roughly based on a themed night out every other Thursday. The highlight is always our ‘Pub Golf’ night in October.
